Consultants and freelancers will appreciate this one. Samsung has released a portable projector that basically fits in the size of your hand. Thanks to LED technology, the SP-HO3 Pico Projector measures 2.75″x1.5″x2.75″, weighs less than most cell phones, and has a 1 GB internal memory that provides a projected screen of 80 inches (30 ANSI lumens strength). The cool factor alone is reason to have this for your office. The practicality of it makes it a must-have. Imagine being able to transfer a file from your iPhone and let the projector run the show itself. Better yet, have this around to project what you have on your computer up on the wall for impromptu meetings. However you justify it, the $300 price tag is just what you need for work and play. In fact, I think it’s a great way to display and share your pictures from the recent 4th of July weekend. Check it out at Samsung‘s web site.
For some reason, I’m mesmerized by these retro-fitted computers made to look like items found in an old Victorian banker’s office. My lawyer from an unfortunate law breaking incident (don’t ask) had a private office that was inspired by the wild, wild west. I came very close to walking out as soon as I walked through the door. As with any legal case, you’re forced to be humbled, so I didn’t really have a choice to pick an attorney based on personal taste and style. Fortunately, all went as planned and I am forever indebted to a man who loves nostalgia. I must admit, my very first desk lamp was a banker style brass lamp with a green glass shade. You know the type, right? I suppose I’m still nostalgic for it since it was one of the very first purchases I made that clearly indicated my love for office design. That style would be right at home with this series of computers and accessories by Old Time Computer. Ranging from a collection of Mac products, the keyboards are “fantastical!” (yes, this is one of many made-up words I like using to butcher the English language). There is now a wireless keyboard available as well as a wireless mouse.
I know this is not for everyone, but I do love the merge between the old world and today’s modern conveniences. It’s a little sci-fi noir…just like the original Time Machine. If you think you might be interested in stepping back in time with our computer technology, be sure to visit Old Time Computer.
It’s the simple things that make me happy. Take a look at Belkin’s Bluetooth Music Receiver. Plug the small device into your speakers or home stereo system and you can play your iPod/iPhone playlist wirelessly. This is great for an office solution. Situate a pair of speakers in another place in the room and choose the music from your iPhone while sitting at your desk. Eliminate the space clutter of speakers and add the convenience of our wifi tech savvy world. The gadget can be purchased directly from Belkin for $49.

Yes, my current iPhone 2 works fine but just like the rest of technology, it’s aging fast…very fast. The new iPhone4 will solve all of my problems, including those I didn’t realize I had. When needing the assistance of a true friend to help me decide what I should be wearing to a special event (hint: anniversary), I can then use the new FaceTime feature that allows users to video chat. Imagine, no longer the need of photographing yourself and then e-mailing the image. Oh, what about taking a night-time picture with your iPhone? It’s usually a mess, right? You can now do so with the 5-megapixel camera and integrated LED flash, perfect for capturing that special celebration (hint: anniversary). And when looking at those pictures on said iPhone, the images are even better than before with the new Retina Display capability that provides 4x the clarity on the screen. And when jumping back and forth between ecstatic phone calls and various apps, the new iPhone4 allows you to do so seamlessly with its all new multitasking platform. All this plus an amazing new shell and casing, HD video, folders for organizing apps, and more.
So you see dear partner, the new iPhone4 is more than just a phone. It’s how I conduct business and pleasure. More importantly, it’s how I stay connected to you. So with this in mind, I’m not asking that you buy this for me, but rather give me the blessing to go out and treat myself without the guilt. It’s sure to be one simple gesture that will mark a special year.
Pre-order yours tomorrow, June 15.

Despite our digital age, I find the need to have some type of calendar available for a quick glance when dating a letter, writing a check or just trying to convince myself that the week is moving forward. Here’s a great solution for your desk. This system is simple, polished and the perfect companion for your office. The calendar that will last a lifetime is designed by legendary Italian designer Enzo Mari. Looking at it reminds me when I was five years old and going to the Security Pacific bank with my grandfather for his weekly deposits. The transaction counters had a system similar to this, except it was bronze framed with white letters on charcoal gray blocks. I vividly remembering wanting to play with the individual cards for the month and dates. Some thirty years later, the wait is over.
Here’s some background about Enzo Mari and his prolific career. Click here for the NYT article.
